Behind the panel
Check the substrate is suitable, dry, stable and prepared for the specified adhesive and any required waterproofing layer. The panel does not automatically correct a deficient wall.
Shower & bathroom applications
Shower panels, shower walls and bathroom wall panels describe an application. A dependable specification connects the selected ABA board with every joint and wet-area detail.
A large-format panel can bring a continuous decorative surface to a bathroom. The buying decision also includes the wall behind it, the adhesive, the panel joint and the way water is managed at the perimeter.
Start with the actual shower layout: tray or bath, internal and external corners, fittings, niches and the connection to adjacent finishes. Approve those details with the selected panel system.
The reference panel uses a wood-free PVC/mineral substrate. This removes an MDF core from the construction, while leaving sealing and correct installation essential.
A shower programme needs a coordinated approval set.
Check the substrate is suitable, dry, stable and prepared for the specified adhesive and any required waterproofing layer. The panel does not automatically correct a deficient wall.
Confirm the exact tongue-and-groove or other edge profile, compatible sealant, adhesive application and the approved treatment of corners and exposed edges.
Document shower-tray and bath junctions, pipes, fixings, cut-outs and niches. Verify how these details are sealed, maintained and inspected.
A result applies to the specimen and method tested.
The July reference technical sheet declares average water absorption and thickness swelling of no more than 0.7% after 24 hours. It also reports no leakage in a 24-hour tongue-and-groove joint test under a manufacturer protocol verified by an independent laboratory.
That joint result does not certify an entire shower room, every sealant, every junction or an indefinitely submerged installation. Ask for the current system instructions and the technical file corresponding to the production supplied.
Design terms such as grout-free or tile-look describe the finish. They do not remove the need for sealed joints and perimeter details.
Work through installation approvalKeep the range and the application connected.
They can be considered as a panel-based alternative when the chosen product and complete installation system are approved for that wet-area application. Substrate preparation, sealing, local requirements and manufacturer instructions still govern the project.
Treat this as an installation-specific question. The existing surface must be suitable, secure and compatible with the adhesive and required wall preparation. Obtain the selected system’s written instructions before approving an overlay.
Pattern matching concerns the visible image across panels. The connection and sealing detail control the joint’s water performance. Approve the decorative layout and wet joint independently.
Those are application names. A bathroom collection may contain multiple substrate constructions; only products and systems approved for the actual exposure should be selected for a shower.
