From sample to finished wall

Plan the ABA panel installation

Use the selected system’s current instructions. This guide sets out the questions to resolve before a trade programme launches; it is not a substitute for product-specific installation details.

Installation details to approve before launch

Treat the board, adhesive, joint, substrate and sealant as a coordinated system.

01

Survey the wall and layout

Confirm substrate condition, flatness, moisture, movement and suitability for the proposed system. Plan panel positions, corners, visible cuts, fixtures and any required waterproofing before ordering.

02

Check storage and preparation

Follow the supplied handling, storage and conditioning guidance. Inspect panels, decorative sequence, batch references and edges before cutting or bonding.

03

Trial the cutting and edge finish

Confirm the approved tools and blade for the selected finish and thickness. Evaluate a sample cut and exposed-edge treatment. Do not assume score-and-snap or heat folding is approved for every ABA board.

04

Validate bonding and joints

Use the specified adhesive, application pattern, coverage, curing conditions and compatible sealants. Fit the exact machined joint as instructed; a decorative match is a separate approval.

05

Seal the wet-area details

Complete the approved tray or bath junctions, corners, penetrations, niches and perimeter details. Fixtures must be supported and fixed according to the system and substrate requirements.

06

Handover the care requirements

Confirm cure time before use, permitted cleaners, inspection and sealant-maintenance intervals. Retain the product and batch references for replacements.

Evaluate the joined panels at full size

Approve how panels meet, not only the colour on one loose piece.

For range development, ask for a joined sample showing the supplied connection and sealing detail. A full-size trial helps the buying and installation teams understand handling, cutting, fit and decorative sequence.

Where pattern continuity matters, approve the designated panel order and orientation. Where wet exposure matters, approve the tested joint and all surrounding details.

Record the selected accessories and instructions in the production brief. An unapproved adhesive or alternative trim can change the installed system.

Care in daily use

Preserve the selected surface and the seals around it.

01

Clean gently

Use a soft damp cloth with a pH-neutral cleaner and wipe spills promptly. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and harsh solvents. A laboratory stain-resistance result is not approval for every household cleaner.

02

Follow the finish guidance

Retain the cleaning instructions supplied for the actual matt or PET gloss surface. Confirm compatible cleaners before using a different product on the finished wall.

03

Maintain the wet details

Include joints, perimeter seals and tray or bath connections in the handover. Inspect and renew sealants according to the selected system’s maintenance instructions.
